

The Swederm team migrated their online store from Magento to Shopify in April 2025. They had long run a loyalty program in their physical stores and wanted to bring the same experience to their online customers.
Right after their Shopify launch, they started to explore different options. It was crucial for them to have a loyalty program that worked seamlessly across both in-store and online channels, so Shopify POS compatibility was non-negotiable.

Swederm.pl is a Polish, family-owned beauty brand established in 2003. They specialize in natural and dermocosmetic products, including vegan and eco-friendly options.
The company sells its beauty products both online and in-store but its main focus is on the webshop which they migrated from Magento to Shopify this spring.
It was essential for Swederm to reward loyal customers online just as they do in their physical location and they needed a solution that worked seamlessly across both channels. They also wanted to introduce a straightforward points program paired with a simple, easy-to-use referral program.
We spoke with Paulina Karpińska, E-commerce Specialist at Swederm:
Swederm’s loyalty program is simple yet powerful, built around core features and intuitive loyalty placements on the storefront.
Customers earn 1 loyalty point for every 1 PLN (≈ €0.23) spent and can redeem points for a wide selection of free products. For example, 100 points can be exchanged for a hand cream of their choice, while larger point balances (300+) unlock rewards such as bags or scrubs. Swederm also offers 100 points for following them on Instagram and 50 points as a birthday gift.
Their referral program is designed to strongly incentivize repeat customers, giving both the referrer and the referee a 20 PLN (≈ €4.60) discount.
The loyalty experience is presented on a dedicated loyalty page that clearly explains the referral program, the points system, available rewards, and an FAQ section.
In addition, they’ve added loyalty placements directly on product pages showing how many points customers will earn per purchase. Points can be redeemed seamlessly in the cart, resulting in a high redemption rate.

Swederm launched its loyalty and referral program just two months ago and has already seen a clear lift in returning customers and the revenue they generate:
Their redemption rate is already well above the industry average thanks to strategic storefront placements and the program now drives 11% of the brand’s total revenue.
